What is fundamental to our cause is overturning the single custody law. When that is accomplished, all else will follow. When foreigners final have legal joint custody over their children, the court system will find it impossible not to impose visitation rights and will be forced to charge mothers if necessary with kidnapping should they abscond with the children. It will open doors we can't imagine yet, but in order for the basic law to be overturned, we must first get the cooperation of the Japanese people themselves.
